VILAMOURA TOP 10 PLACES TO VISIT!

Welcome to Vilamoura! We find this place amazing for relaxing and spending quality time with your family. So we want to share some of our favorites must-visit locations, things to do and places to eat while you are staying in this region.

1. Beach

First and foremost, if you are coming to Algarve then you must head to the beach! The choice is varied: you have Praia de Vilamoura of course, to the west Praia da Rocha Baixinha and to the east Quarteira’s beaches: Praia do Forte Novo, Praia do Almargem and many other.

2. Golf courses

If you are a fan of golf then you must know Vilamoura is the place to be in the Algarve. Vilamoura has five main courses including the Millennium, the Old Course, Vila Sol, Pinhal, and Victoria. Within the Vilamoura Marina you can find agencies that arrange for transport, club rental and fees to use the courts.

3. Vilamoura Marina

Vilamoura Marina is the gathering place for entertainment. It includes a fancy hotel, shops, a lot of restaurants and the harbour itself is usually filled with luxury boats. Nonetheless, it is a great place for a stroll, have an ice cream or a drink and chill out.

4. Roman Ruins (Cerro da Vila)

A few meters from Vilamoura’s Marina you can find Roman Ruins called Cerro da Vila. There are composed of two residences, including baths, necropolis and salting fish tanks. You can find more information at the interpretation center.

5. Nightlife

Vilamoura is also known for its varied nightlife, with bars ranging from themed to super trendy. One of the most popular is the Vilamoura’s Casino, the Bliss nightclub or the NoSoloÁgua, this last one especially fit for day and sunset parties.

6. Boat trips

At the Marina you can hire numerous boat trips to see the coastline, dolphin watching, deep-sea fishing, speedboats, jet boats or jet-skis. If you feel like enjoying a unique experience try a sunset cruise with a private yacht.

7. Julius Restaurant

This is a well-kept secret of Vilamoura cuisine. The Julius restaurant is not right at the Marina but it is nonetheless excellent. The service and the food are brilliant and well worth. Great food, wine and great to spend some time with family during your vacations.

8. Don Alfonso Restaurant

Excellent restaurant in Vilamoura near the Roman Ruins of Cerro da Vila. It has a generous offer of wines, all fantastic and great food. The specialty is steaks.

9. O Marisco Restaurant

This is one of the best restaurants in Vilamoura. Right in the Marina, you will enjoy your meal with a view. A bit pricey but with a large offer of local and fresh fish and seafood. Excellent Portuguese food and service!

10. Beira Mar Pastry Shop

To finish off with a sweet treat head to this pastry shop at Quarteira’s Marina and ask for some typical Portuguese sweets. Such as these yummy custard tarts. We hope you enjoy!
